Hampton Inn - Idaho Falls, ID - Hotel Review
A relaxing stay and a wonderful breakfast!
I recently had an overnight stay at the Hampton Inn located in Idaho Falls, ID. (The one by the mall) From the looks of it, this is one of their smaller properties, it has 3 stories and just under 80 guest rooms. In short, the stay was one of the best I’ve had. The room was quiet, a good size, and very clean. I hadn’t been to this hotel before or any Hampton Inn for that matter. I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn when it comes to Hilton Brands (I always have a good stay at those locations as well, the one outside of Disneyland is especially nice and a favorite of mine.)
Upon checking in, I was greeted warmly and my reservation information was available right on the screen. Check-in was a breeze and the clerk was very informative about the property. She also let me know that fresh cookies would be available at 5:00. I love that Hilton hotels usually have cookies available because after a long day of traveling, I am in search of food and possibly a shower. The cookies are a nice touch because they hold me over until the shower part of my plan is out of the way and then I’m off to find food. Part of the information that I received was a list of local places that offered a discount for those staying at the Hampton Inn.
Just after checking in, I headed to my room to put my things down. The room was comfortable, it came with all the amenities that I could think of off the top of my head. I liked the fact that there was a refrigerator and microwave as well as toiletries. There was also a little sign next to the toiletries that let me know that if I had forgotten anything, the front desk would have some things on hand upon request. In the room upon check-in, there was a complete set of toiletries including; shampoo & conditioner, lotion, bath gel, mouthwash, a shoe shining kit, shower cap, Q-Tips, a small sewing kit and more. The linens and towels were all white and in the elevator, there was a sticker that informed me that all of the linens are washed and fresh between each guest. Given the white linens, I could tell that the housekeeping staff was on top of their duties.
I then went and took a look around the property, located just down the hall from the lobby, after a swipe of my key card, I was in. There I found a great gym which had a treadmill, elliptical and some medicine balls as far as equipment goes. Also in the fitness center was a television, towels and water. The gym had big windows with a view of the indoor pool which made the room feel open. This property had both a pool and a spa however, it was down for maintenance during my visit. Not to worry, there was a sign that directed guests to use the pool at the hotel next door if they would like to take a dip (A Holiday Inn.) It looked as though they were just doing some cleaning at the time and nothing major was the reason for the pool being out of service. The indoor pool and spa were in a big room with more windows that was kept warm for comfort.
Despite a nearly full parking lot, the hotel was very quiet through the night. The bed was very comfortable and it was overall a very easy stay. In the morning we woke up early for breakfast (despite wanting to stay in bed) and that was totally worth it. This location had my favorite – the waffle bar! You can choose from several kinds of syrups, whipped cream and even chocolate chips to top off your morning. The Hampton Inn Idaho Falls also had several types of juice, pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and when family and friends come into town, I will definitely direct them toward this hotel. I have stayed in several other Idaho Falls hotels but this one seemed to be a bit more updated than some of the others and was offered at a great price. Oh! The location was also great because it was near the mall, other shopping and a good amount of food places. This is also a place to consider if you are visiting a loved one in the hospital as both hospitals in Idaho Falls are within walking distance.
